Opportunity Overview
Each project presents distinct tasks for contributors, which may include:
- Developing original computational financial problems that replicate real-world financial research workflows;
- Creating problems that require Python programming for solutions (utilizing Numpy, SciPy, Sympy);
- Ensuring that problems are computationally intensive, requiring resolutions that cannot be achieved manually within reasonable timeframes (days to weeks);
- Formulating problems that necessitate complex reasoning chains in fields such as number theory, combinatorics, graph theory, and numerical analysis;
- Grounding problems in authentic research challenges or practical applications from mathematical practice;
- Validating solutions with Python using standard mathematical libraries;
- Providing clear documentation for problem statements and verified solutions.
Candidate Profile
This role is ideal for specialists in Financial Mathematics with Python expertise who are open to part-time, non-permanent engagements. Preferred qualifications include:
- A degree in Finance, Mathematics, or a related discipline;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; familiarity with MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or other programming languages is acceptable;
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in applied mathematics, research, or teaching;
- Strong written English skills (C1+ proficiency);
- Professional certifications (e.g., CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and experience with international or applied projects are advantageous.

Project Duration Expectations
Tasks for this project are estimated at approximately 10-20 hours per week during active phases, contingent upon project requirements. This is an estimate and not a guaranteed workload, applicable only while the project is active.
Compensation
Contributors can expect to earn up to $17 per hour, based on their expertise and contribution pace. Compensation may vary across projects based on scope, complexity, and necessary expertise. Be aware that other projects on the platform might offer different earning levels depending on their specific requirements.
