About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled Financial Planning Analyst specializing in budgeting and forecasting. This role is crucial for developing comprehensive financial models and managing planning cycles that inform strategic decisions. You will leverage your analytical prowess and expertise in modeling tools to convert complex data into actionable insights. Collaborating closely with finance leaders and department heads, you will ensure that budgets and forecasts are not only accurate but also aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Budget Development:
- Drive the creation of annual operating and capital budgets.
- Aggregate inputs from various departments and business units.
- Ensure that budgets reflect company goals and resource limitations.
Forecasting:
- Manage rolling forecasts for revenues, expenses, and cash flow.
- Regularly update models with actual figures and adjust assumptions accordingly.
- Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess potential outcomes.
Variance Analysis:
- Analyze actual results against budgets and forecasts.
- Draft detailed commentary to explain variances and propose corrective actions.
Financial Modeling:
- Create dynamic financial models in Excel or Google Sheets (including DCF, ROI, IRR, break-even analysis).
- Utilize advanced functions, macros, or BI tool integrations to enhance accuracy.
Reporting:
- Develop management reporting packages featuring dashboards and visual displays.
- Present findings to executives, emphasizing risks and opportunities.
Collaboration:
- Work with department leaders to ensure forecasts align with operational strategies.
- Collaborate with FP&A teams to refine planning assumptions.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and rectify inefficiencies in forecasting processes.
- Implement new FP&A software or enhance data integration efforts (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Workday).

Required Experience & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, or forecasting.
- Expertise in advanced Excel/Google Sheets (nested formulas, pivot tables, sensitivity analysis).
- Proven experience in preparing variance analyses for leadership.
