Qualifications
Responsibilities:Support the development of our autonomy systems through frequent flight testing.Establish and implement processes for preparing, executing, and analyzing flight tests.Work collaboratively with hardware, software, flight controls, integration, and operations teams to create and refine test plans, ensuring readiness and efficient data collection.Engage in flight tests, including preparing and approving test cards, verifying procedures and software through simulation, acting as test director/conductor, and assisting in generating analysis and deficiency reports post-flight.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.Over 5 years of experience in experimental flight testing or equivalent formal training.Familiarity with fundamental principles of fixed-wing aircraft flight dynamics and control.Willingness to undertake diverse responsibilities to ensure the success of our flight test program, including flying, traveling to various sites for coordination, and acquiring new skills as needed.Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal.Bonus Qualifications:Completion of a Flight Test Engineer Professional course (e.g., NTPS, ITPS, Military TPS).Degree in Aerospace Engineering.Experience with software development tools like Linux, git, and Jira.Proficiency in Python and/or Matlab for scripting and engineering data analysis.Background in flight controls product development, including system-level and software component testing and troubleshooting.Familiarity with certification processes and flight testing.
