About FareShare
FareShare operates 21 Regional Centres across the UK, collaborating with local charitable organisations known as our Delivery Partners. This structure allows us to be a nationwide entity while being responsive to local needs. We aid 9,653 local charities and groups—our Community Food Members—redistributing 16,992 tonnes of food each year, which feeds 772,000 individuals weekly. Our reach extends to 1,500 towns, cities, and villages, enabling us to save UK charities and community groups over £28 million annually.
As hunger continues to escalate in the UK, we recognize the importance of redirecting surplus food from waste to those in need. The demand for food assistance significantly surpasses the available supply.
Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Food Collection Assistant to liaise with over 500 food suppliers, ensuring the effective capture and distribution of surplus food to our 24 warehouses. This position plays a crucial role in guaranteeing that surplus food is properly routed to FareShare warehouses, facilitating its redistribution to charities and community groups throughout the UK. The successful applicant will also collaborate closely with our commercial team to provide exceptional operational support and customer service to our food partners.
This position is part of the Food Coordination team, responsible for managing food offers from our partners. The team engages daily in communicating with food partners, allocating food supplies, organizing logistics, maintaining records of food offers, and coordinating transport to optimize food distribution.
We are looking for organized and passionate individuals eager to embrace a dynamic role filled with supply chain challenges. If you are a recent graduate or enthusiastic about contributing to the charity sector, we encourage you to apply.
