About Medley Learning
Medley Learning is revolutionizing the educational landscape by developing AI solutions that genuinely cater to the needs of teachers and school districts. Our goal is to enhance existing pedagogical practices with high-quality content rather than adding to the noise of low-value AI offerings. Our innovative browser extension integrates seamlessly with digital classroom materials, providing tailored reading and writing support for each student. Initially focusing on multilingual learners, we plan to expand our services to include students with disabilities in the upcoming year, ensuring equitable access to instructional resources and significantly reducing teachers' preparation time.
As a mission-driven organization, we aim to not only foster a thriving business but to also empower students, alleviate teacher workloads, and improve educational outcomes in diverse classrooms. Our research-based approach is already benefiting over 20 school districts across the United States.
Led by CEO Brandon Cardet-Hernandez, a former multilingual learner with extensive experience in K-12 education as a teacher, principal, policy advisor, and edtech innovator, Medley is supported by Workshop Ventures and advised by top researchers in the field.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual to become the Founding Head of Product at Medley. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a rapidly evolving company with strong backing and to have a significant impact on product development, strategic direction, and the overall culture of the organization. We are looking for a hands-on leader who is excited about making critical, detail-oriented decisions while also acting as a strategic partner to the CEO in establishing Medley as a front-runner in the AI edtech sector. You'll play a pivotal role in defining the product vision, company strategy, and long-term approach to integrating AI into classroom learning.
This role combines tactical execution with strategic leadership as you will be responsible for drafting specifications, conducting research, establishing success metrics, making tough prioritization decisions, and collaborating closely with engineering teams to bring products to market. Initially, you will be an active contributor to the product lineup while also laying the groundwork for building and leading a product team as we grow.
You will join a core team of six, expanding to ten by summer, with new pre-seed funding, substantial demand from school districts, and a planned outreach to serve over 15,000 multilingual learners this academic year.
In the coming year, we will broaden our initiatives to support students with disabilities. Collectively, multilingual learners and students with disabilities account for over 20% of K-12 students in the U. S., both groups having been historically underserved by educational technology.
