About Us
Founded in a London flat in 2009, Sofar Sounds emerged as a remedy to the diminishing allure of live music. It has since transformed into a global initiative that has expanded beyond music to include comedy, dance, and other performances, all while maintaining a strong focus on discovering and promoting emerging talent.
Many artists who are now household names, such as Billie Eilish, Jack Harlow, and Hozier, have graced the Sofar stage early in their careers. Sofar is not just about hosting gigs; it empowers artists by offering a professional platform that encompasses booking, promotion, and audience engagement, while providing access to brand collaborations, content creation, and significant media exposure.
Every Sofar event is unique, taking place in extraordinary locations ranging from ski jumps and caves to cozy living rooms and rooftops. Each experience invites audiences to immerse themselves fully, using technology not as a distraction but as a means to connect with the artist and the community.
At Sofar, we are passionately dedicated to our mission. When we’re not curating, you can find us enjoying live performances or sharing our latest music discoveries. Our commitment to supporting artists and creating unforgettable, intimate experiences for fans worldwide inspires us every day.
