This professional is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures using Radiographic equipment to generate critical information necessary for patient diagnosis and treatment, in alignment with industry, departmental, hospital, and IEMA policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review and assess physician orders for Radiological examinations according to departmental protocols.
- Evaluate procedure requests and assess patients to determine the most suitable imaging protocols.
- Inform patients about radiation safety and related matters as necessary.
- Provide patient education regarding the examination process, alleviate anxiety, and ensure comfort during procedures.
- Position patients and execute diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring adherence to department and hospital standards for patient care, including age-specific and “Patients First” guidelines.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate medical records for all patients.
- Conduct electronic quality analysis of Radiographic images.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Follow research protocols and maintain accurate records for research data.
- Report any equipment failures, irregularities, or disrepair to a supervisor promptly.
- Ensure exam rooms are supplied and maintained according to department standards.
- Assist in the education of house staff, student technologists, and ancillary personnel in relation to diagnostic imaging.
- Facilitate patient scheduling and transportation as required.
- Provide high-quality patient data while ensuring maximized productivity for enhanced customer satisfaction.
- Collect data to support quality management tracking and improvement initiatives.
- Engage in formal and informal process improvement efforts to enhance service quality.
- Ensure continuity of care through effective collaboration with other departments.
