Are you passionate about plant care and the cannabis industry? As a Flower Technician at Greenthumb Industries, you will engage in a variety of plant maintenance tasks to cultivate the highest quality flowers for our valued patients and consumers. Given the heavily regulated nature of the cannabis sector, adherence to safety and compliance regulations is paramount for all team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct various plant maintenance activities such as defoliation, pruning, and skirting, demonstrating dexterity and precision in manual tasks.
- Achieve production targets while consistently maintaining high performance standards.
- Adhere to department-specific work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify distinct plant strains, understand their specific care requirements, growth patterns, and recognize any anomalies.
- Collaborate effectively in a team setting while also managing individual responsibilities.
Commitment to Safety & Compliance
- Maintain awareness of hazards present in the workplace.
- Comprehend and apply department-specific training protocols.
- Report any safety incidents or concerns and ensure compliance with follow-up actions.
- Adhere to safety requirements set forth by state regulations and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), biosecurity standards, sanitation, and other quality compliance measures.
- Accurately and completely document records as instructed by a supervisor.
- Calibrate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery under the guidance of a supervisor.
- Proactively report and escalate safety and quality issues.
Work Environment
- This position requires regular activities including reaching, grasping, bending, and repetitive motions.
- The ability to maintain focus while seated or standing for extended periods is essential.
- Must be capable of lifting and carrying weights up to 50 pounds (up to 100 pounds with assistance), exercising caution when handling products.
- Work in conditions with temperatures exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity levels of 70% for extended durations.
- Comfortable working at heights.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, and challenging environment.
- Daily exposure to allergens such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil is expected.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or relevant certification in horticulture or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in plant care or cultivation is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to learning.
