About the job
Directly report to the Mechanical QC Engineer and assist in executing quality control protocols for mechanical projects.
Examine project technical specifications, drawings, and BOQ to ascertain quality standards, engineering guidelines, and inspection needs associated with mechanical tasks.
Engage in site inspections of mechanical materials and equipment to confirm adherence to project specifications and approved documentation.
Conduct fit-up inspections and dimensional checks before installation and welding operations.
Organize, archive, and manage inspection reports, testing records, and quality documentation from inspection activities.
Oversee and evaluate the work carried out by third-party testing, inspection, and NDT companies concerning mechanical tasks, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
Participate in and facilitate client inspections and testing engagements within your designated area.
Identify incomplete work or defective materials and generate punch list items for corrective measures.
Compile punch lists for completed mechanical work and ensure all items are resolved satisfactorily.
Assist construction staff in recognizing quality concerns, potential issues, and non-conformities related to mechanical work.
Report and escalate non-conforming work to the Mechanical QC Engineer and/or QC Manager for necessary actions.
Ensure all measuring and testing devices utilized during inspections are properly calibrated and operational.
Perform additional related duties as directed by the QC Engineer or QC Manager.
