About the job
At Osmo, we are pioneering the field of digital olfaction, striving to equip computers with a sense of smell to enhance human health and wellbeing. Why is this important? Our olfactory senses profoundly influence our emotions and memories, enriching and even saving lives.
Our innovative Olfactory Intelligence technology has diverse applications across various sectors, including fragrance, manufacturing, security, and medicine. We are committed to harnessing the power of automation and applying AI/ML thoughtfully to address challenges that surpass human intuition.
Headquartered in New York, NY, with a new facility in New Jersey and additional offices in Somerville, MA, Osmo is experiencing rapid growth. We seek an operationally savvy IT leader who can take charge of our IT infrastructure, security, endpoint management, identity, vendor relations, and overall employee IT experience. The ideal candidate will possess a mix of startup agility and the discipline typical of a Series-B company, ensuring clear deliverables, robust documentation, reliable execution, and measurable SLAs.
Role Overview:
As the Head of IT, you will oversee Osmo’s workplace IT and security operations. This includes managing the IT roadmap, vendor partnerships (SaaS, MDM, identity, security), incident response, asset lifecycle, and delivering a top-notch employee support experience. You will be expected to engage both strategically (roadmaps, budgeting, compliance) and tactically (hands-on implementation, troubleshooting) while effectively communicating with the executive team.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Manage daily IT operations, including identity and access management (SSO/MFA), device lifecycle, MDM, endpoint security, networks, backups, and remote-work tools.
Security and Compliance: Implement and uphold essential security measures (MFA, patching, least privilege, anti-phishing, logging/monitoring). Lead incident response and remediation efforts; develop runbooks and playbooks.
Prepare for audits and security reviews from investors and partners; drive risk reduction initiatives. Act as the primary custodian of the organization’s digital assets, crafting and executing a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy.
