SAR Academy, a distinguished Modern Orthodox co-educational day school located in Riverdale, NY, invites passionate and dedicated educators to apply for the position of Head Teacher in our Early Learning Center (Nursery-Kindergarten) for the 2026-2027 academic year. Key Responsibilities:
-Design and implement a dynamic, developmentally appropriate curriculum, incorporating engaging lessons and activities tailored to young learners.
-Foster a supportive and open-minded teaching environment, utilizing differentiated instruction to address diverse student needs effectively.
-Conduct ongoing developmental assessments of students, including anecdotal observations, to highlight strengths and identify areas for growth.
-Maintain effective classroom management strategies and established routines.
-Create an organized and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and independence.
- Promote positive and open communication with parents through weekly newsletters, photographs, progress calls, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to plan and facilitate daily classroom activities and special programs.
- Engage in school-wide responsibilities, including tefillah, supervision during lunch and recess, arrival/dismissal, outdoor play, and specialty programming.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proven ability to foster a warm, respectful, and inclusive classroom community.
- In-depth knowledge of social, emotional, and cognitive development in early childhood as well as progressive education philosophies.
- Expertise in integrated curriculum development and inquiry-based learning methodologies.
- Demonstrated capability to teach integrated curricula across diverse units of study and chagim.
