Position Summary: We are committed to training passionate individuals who are ready to embark on a rewarding health care career. This includes recent graduates from 2- or 4-year colleges, as well as professionals such as Medical Assistants, Nurse Aides, Phlebotomists, Hemo Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Home Health Aides, and Personal Care Aides.
The Health Care Assistant plays a vital role within our health center operations and clinical support team. You will be responsible for completing various support tasks under the supervision of center management and licensed clinical staff. Your contributions are essential in enhancing center flow, ensuring patient satisfaction, and maintaining the safety of PPHP’s services while providing excellent internal customer service.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Executing front desk operations such as patient reception, check-in/check-out, and overseeing the waiting area.
Handling communications, including phone calls and mail, while ensuring supplies are received and processed efficiently.
Demonstrating proficiency in our electronic health record and practice management systems.
Explaining and assisting patients with available entitlement programs.
Preparing necessary paperwork and clinical chart information for our clinical staff.
Assisting with lab results and coordinating patient follow-ups.
Maintaining organized electronic and medical charts.
Upholding agency security protocols and demonstrating teamwork.
Participating in efforts to meet financial goals related to revenue and expenses.
Supporting patient assessments, including laboratory services and vital signs monitoring.
Educating patients about medication and surgical options.
Performing blood draws and lab testing while adhering to safety protocols.
