Join us as a Health & Safety Manager and lead the charge towards a safer workplace.
Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Your base will be at our Edmonton site in North London.
Role Overview:
Assist Site Managers in optimizing a profitable recovery and treatment process while ensuring adherence to SHEQ standards and permits. Supervise daily plant operations, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to uphold safety and operational efficiency. Foster a proactive safety culture and prepare the organization for future expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Based at our Edmonton facility in North London.
- Report to the Head of MRFs SE.
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections and audits while promoting a positive safety culture across the site.
- Implement health and safety training programs and mentor staff to ensure effective policy execution.
- Act as a pivotal member of the management team, exemplifying high safety standards.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety policies and procedures, analyzing data to identify trends and maintain strong safety protocols.
- Collaborate with the central SHQ team for hazard and near-miss reporting, audits, behavioral surveys, and detailed incident investigations.
- Serve as the fire safety lead, ensuring all statutory inspections and fire prevention strategies are current and effective.
- Induct visitors, new hires, and contractors, confirming that contractor risk assessments and method statements (RAMs) are adequate.
- Manage site traffic plans and coordinate with environmental and facilities teams to ensure compliance with inspections and seamless operational execution.
