Key Responsibilities
- Fulfill teaching duties as assigned by the school.
- Lead the implementation and continuous enhancement of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP).
- Oversee teaching operations within the division and drive the systematic design, optimization, and documentation of the curriculum framework, including the Programme of Inquiry (POI) and curriculum maps.
- Enhance and fortify the curriculum/departmental identity to ensure enriching learning experiences.
- Remain informed about IB publications to ensure alignment with IB standards, documentation, and implementation requirements.
- Keep staff updated on IBO-related decisions, news, and publications.
- Organize and enhance management documentation to facilitate effective PYP implementation and clarify teaching systems and routines.
- Implement management of teaching routines to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Plan and lead collaborative lesson preparation sessions for subject and grade teams, providing guidance and support.
- Facilitate lesson study and departmental discussions to ensure effective integrated learning and achievement of intended outcomes.
- Contribute to the school’s strategic development initiatives.
- Organize professional development for the teaching team, promoting opportunities and training to uplift instructional quality.
- Build partnerships with IB World Schools locally and internationally to share resources and promote collaboration.
- Support the planning of primary school learning exhibitions and showcases for student learning.
- Collaborate with department leaders to secure necessary resources for program implementation and development.
- Enhance middle leadership and grassroots teaching management capacity to ensure consistent curriculum delivery and sustainable quality improvement.
- Foster a vibrant learner community and lead parent/community communication regarding IB philosophy.
