As the Image Composition Supervisor, you will oversee the work produced within your department, ensuring that your team meets Rodeo FX's high-quality standards and project specifications. You will collaborate closely with the VFX Supervisor and the CG Supervisor to establish workflows and methodologies that address technical challenges while adhering to Rodeo FX's pipeline and the client's creative vision.
Effective communication with production and other departments is essential as you delegate appropriate workloads. As both an artistic and technical resource, you will mentor and train image preparation and compositing artists, providing them with constructive feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Department Head and production team to plan and establish workflows and methodologies throughout the project, ensuring the optimal creative and technical approach to meet requirements, budgets, and timelines;
- Make recommendations for the potential development of necessary tools and participate in their creation for your specialty, ensuring tools are tested before integration and clear documentation is available;
- Participate in casting artists for projects. In collaboration with production, assign shots and sequences to Artists, considering their capabilities and skill levels;
- Communicate the creative vision and objectives to your team, ensuring individual and collective accountability for results is understood;
- Guide artists throughout the project and closely monitor the quality of the work produced. Lead daily review sessions, examine assets and shots, and ensure that the work follows the appropriate methodology and aligns with the client's artistic vision;
- Work on complex shots or sequences or participate in their creation;
- Resolve visual, artistic, and technical issues throughout the project in collaboration with other Supervisors, and escalate to the Department Head as necessary;
- Keep track of upcoming milestones and keep the project team informed about the status of work, issues to resolve, ramifications of encountered problems, and potential solutions;
- Act promptly with team members who are not meeting set objectives.
