Role Overview:
We are looking for an Industrial Engineer to spearhead factory design, production system architecture, and rate-scaling strategies for our low-cost interceptor manufacturing.
This position will be responsible for the design and optimization of the production system, including facility layout, line design, labor modeling, material flow, capacity planning, and capital deployment strategies.
You will create scalable, cost-effective production systems capable of swiftly transitioning from pilot builds to high-rate interceptor production.
Key Responsibilities:
Factory & Production System Design
Design comprehensive factory layouts that optimize flow, takt time, and throughput.
Develop value stream maps representing current and future states.
Architect assembly lines across manual, semi-automated, and automated setups.
Define cell structures, workstation configurations, and labor allocation models.
Design material flow systems including kitting, supermarkets, and point-of-use inventory.
Ensure all layout designs comply with safety, explosive handling, and regulatory standards.
Capacity Planning & Rate Modeling
Develop intricate production rate models that align with demand forecasts.
Calculate takt time, cycle time, throughput, bottleneck identification, and OEE targets.
Create multi-scenario capacity models (surge, dual-source, rate ramp).
Establish headcount and capital scaling plans.
Assess rate readiness risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Capital Planning & Industrialization Strategy
Identify capital equipment requirements based on production rates.
