Information System Security Officer (ISSO)
- The Contractor will identify key personnel for the ISSO positions, assigned to one or more existing FISMA Systems of Record, as well as new IT systems that are under development for an Authority to Operate (ATO) and subsequent Continuous Monitoring systems.
- As a designated ISSO, the individual will sign a DHS-sponsored Letter outlining the roles and responsibilities necessary to maintain daily compliance requirements.
- The ISSO will report directly to the government Program Manager and the Technical Point of Contact (POC) / Task Manager.
- The Contractor is responsible for keeping the designated government Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) informed.
- Given the critical need to keep systems updated in accordance with FISMA guidelines, and to support DHS/CISA directives aimed at minimizing vulnerabilities, the ISSO role is paramount throughout the system lifecycle.
