As a leader in the digital landscape, we at difrent are excited to invite an interim Content Designer to contribute to our dynamic digital transformation project for a public sector client. This role is based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.
The position is an initial 3-month contract, outside IR35, with a requirement for candidates to commence by early November.
Key Responsibilities of the Content Designer:
You will be involved in:
- Conducting user needs analysis: Observing, working with, and analyzing user requirements from existing content, while writing and managing user needs and proposing necessary changes.
- Transition phase: Identifying content gaps and overlaps based on user needs analysis, and determining the appropriate content format for various topics, such as flat pages, tools, or services.
- Defending content decisions through discussion and rationale.
- Upholding a high-quality user-focused approach, ensuring content remains relevant and easily comprehensible for the audience.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Experience working in an agile environment with rapid changes in deadlines, workloads, and objectives.
- Ability to assess user needs effectively.
- Expertise in translating user needs into clear, understandable content.
- Skilled in simplifying complex language and processes.
- Ability to evaluate the quality of medical source materials.
- Capability to articulate decisions and edits clearly.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining relationships with non-digital stakeholders.
Experience Requirements:
- Significant experience in web content writing, with a proven track record of creating accessible and user-friendly content.
- Exceptional ability to advocate for user needs and usability as the foundation for presenting information.
- Demonstrated experience in leveraging metrics and user feedback to refine content.
- Proficient in writing Markdown and managing web application development environments, including image sourcing and editing.
- Experience in determining the optimal format for presenting information to users.
- Experience with content publishing systems.
- Familiarity with Government Digital Service (GDS) guidelines is essential.
