Position Overview: We are looking for a talented Intermediate Tax Accountant who possesses 2-4 years of solid experience in Australian taxation. This role will involve collaboration with an esteemed Australian accounting firm, assisting with tax matters for individuals, trusts, companies, and SMSFs while upholding a high standard of accuracy, professionalism, and client service.
This position is perfect for individuals who have a strong understanding of the Australian tax landscape and are capable of independently managing end-to-end compliance tasks with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Australian Tax Compliance
- Prepare and review Individual, Company, Trust, and Partnership tax returns in compliance with ATO requirements.
- Prepare BAS/IAS, including GST, PAYG-W, PAYG-I, and fuel tax credits where applicable.
- Conduct tax reconciliations, including depreciation, small business concessions, carried-forward losses, franking credits, and Division 7A considerations.
- Prepare FBT returns and associated calculations when required.
- Support tax planning, projections, and scenario modeling for clients.
Accounting & Compliance Support
- Prepare general-purpose and special-purpose financial statements.
- Execute bank, loan, clearing, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support STP finalization, payroll reporting, and superannuation compliance.
- Assist in identifying compliance risks and recommending process improvements.
Client & Team Communication
- Engage professionally with Australian clients through email and scheduled calls.
