AHRC New York City is actively looking for a dedicated Full-Time Janitorial and Food Services Shift Supervisor with prior supervisory experience in both janitorial and kitchen environments.
Salary: $27 per hour
Location: Downtown Brooklyn, conveniently located near the Brooklyn Bridge.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 7 AM to 4 PM (40 hours/week), with a willingness to work later in the evenings during events and for coverage as needed.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Shift Supervisor will oversee the adherence to all contract specifications for AHRC Services and ensure the smooth operation of both kitchen and maintenance teams. Building strong relationships with site managers and clients is essential. You will lead by example, demonstrating food service techniques and promoting appropriate work habits in line with contract guidelines, food safety, and OSHA regulations. Additionally, you will serve as a key liaison between staff, site personnel, and AHRC management, assisting in the completion of designated tasks.
Some customers may require staff to comply with specific clearance procedures, including fingerprinting and background checks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure all contract requirements are met or surpassed. Develop and implement effective food service and cleaning techniques. Train and supervise Kitchen and Maintenance Associates to complete required tasks effectively. Ensure safety and cleanliness in the workplace, adhering to all food service and OSHA regulations, including the use of necessary personal protective equipment.
The Shift Supervisor will actively participate in operations, ensuring all services are delivered efficiently during the designated shift. You will monitor both cleaning and kitchen staff to guarantee adherence to schedules and quality standards. Additionally, late hours may be required during special events.
Your specific responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining all areas of the facility in good, clean condition according to safety and sanitary standards.
- Reinforcing training and supervising Kitchen and Maintenance Associates to meet customer satisfaction.
- Assisting with food preparation under the guidance of food program staff as needed.
