Position Overview
The Junior Accountant is an entry-level position tasked with supporting daily accounting functions, primarily concentrating on accounts payable management, general ledger reconciliations, and expense oversight. This role offers an outstanding chance to acquire practical experience in a dynamic accounting setting while establishing a solid foundation in financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process accounts payable transactions, reviewing, coding, and entering vendor invoices in a timely manner.
- Maintain and organize accounts payable records and related documentation in compliance with company policies.
- Conduct general ledger reconciliations and assist in addressing discrepancies.
- Prepare and record journal entries pertaining to accounts payable and expense transactions.
- Update and manage expense reports and related data within Emburse or similar systems.
- Support month-end closure activities related to accounts payable and reconciliations.
- Engage with vendors and internal teams to resolve invoice and payment queries.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures.
- Provide general accounting and administrative assistance as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing).
- Fundamental understanding of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with accounting or ERP software; experience with SAP Concur is advantageous.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Work Arrangement: Remote
Work Schedule:
During training (2 weeks): 9:00 PM to 5:30 AM (plus 1 hour OT)
Post-training: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (plus 1 hour OT)
