We are looking for a meticulous Junior Civil Outside Plant (OSP) Design Specialist to enhance our expanding Outside Plant (OSP) initiatives. In this role, you will serve as an essential quality assurance gateway, conducting thorough technical evaluations and quality control checks on Civil OSP design packages to ensure compliance with rigorous client and industry standards.
As project demands grow, you will play a key role in alleviating bottlenecks by managing the daily review workload and ensuring our deliverables are precise, compliant, and ready for submission. This is a fully remote position that requires quick responsiveness and the ability to collaborate across various time zones.
Key Responsibilities
Civil & OSP Technical Review
- Conduct comprehensive Quality Control (QC) reviews of Civil OSP design packages, including trenching, duct banks, manholes/handholes, and utility coordination.
- Ensure designs adhere to Client-specific templates and technical documentation.
- Cross-check designs against local jurisdiction regulations (Municipal ROW, DOT) and national standards (NEC, NESC).
- Spot discrepancies or missing elements and deliver clear, actionable feedback to the CAD and design teams.
Project Support & Coordination
- Support Project Managers in monitoring design review cycles, maintaining comment logs, and adhering to submission deadlines.
- Assist in integrating feedback from external stakeholders (municipalities, permitting agencies, etc.) back into the design process.
- Engage in internal meetings to ensure design intent aligns with field conditions and construction requirements.
Process & Quality Improvement
- Utilize and manage QC checklists to guarantee consistency across all project deliverables.
- Help identify recurring design errors to enhance upstream processes.
- Employ digital tools (Smartsheet, dashboards, and trackers) to oversee workflow efficiency and minimize manual errors.
