- The Junior Clinical Investigator at SGS is responsible for overseeing clinical research involving consumer products with healthy paid volunteers. This role entails developing research studies and establishing standards and guidelines for clinical research services and programs, while ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), good clinical practices, and FDA regulations.
- Key responsibilities include drafting protocols, collecting and analyzing data, preparing progress reports, and issuing comprehensive reports on study findings.
- Additionally, the investigator will develop, maintain, and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring that all study personnel are familiar with and adhere to these protocols.
- Conducting and supervising studies in accordance with established protocols and SOPs is essential, as is protecting the rights, safety, and welfare of all subjects involved.
- The role involves collaboration with sponsors, staff, contractors, professional societies, and regulatory agencies to gather necessary information and documentation.
- Any deviations from the protocol must be promptly communicated to the sponsor and/or Institutional Review Board (IRB).
- Delegating appropriate duties and ensuring that all study team members are adequately trained and supervised is a crucial aspect of this position.
- The investigator must ensure that informed consent forms are clear, accurate, and comprehensible, providing subjects the opportunity to ask questions prior to signing.
