Qualifications
Nuclear experience is not a prerequisite, though it is certainly advantageous. Experience in electrical design within engineering projects. Proven ability in cable sizing and electrical calculations. Familiarity with electrical networks, protection systems, and earthing principles. Experience in supporting the installation of transformers and electrical switchboards. Proficiency in creating clear technical documentation and engineering assessments. Experience in multidisciplinary engineering project environments.⏱ Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

This position is located in Bridgwater with a hybrid work model. Candidates should either reside within commuting distance or be open to relocation support.
The role involves supporting electrical design functions during the construction of nuclear power plants. Your future team will address site technical inquiries and uphold the integrity of the design. This position provides early-career engineers with the opportunity to engage with complex, multidisciplinary engineering challenges.
Responsibilities include reviewing site technical queries and collecting necessary electrical design input data.
Producing technical assessments and completing engineering calculations to support electrical systems.
Evaluating the effects of site activities on electrical design integrity.
Assisting in the resolution of electrical design open points after design package delivery.
Identifying potential technical risks and proactively escalating open issues.
Documenting lessons learned to enhance engineering processes and documentation.
Assessing modification requests for applicability to electrical systems.
Collaborating with layout engineers to ensure precise integration of 2D and 3D models.
Supporting commissioning teams with the preparation of electrical test documentation.
Reporting progress and technical updates during team engineering meetings.
