As a Junior Environmental Manager at Boskalis, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that projects commence on time. Your responsibilities will include coordinating archaeological assessments, securing area clearance from unexploded ordnance, and managing the relocation of cables and pipelines. Boskalis Nederland is at the forefront of transformative projects that reshape the landscape of our country, such as the Meanderende Maas dike reinforcement and the expansion of the A2 between Het Vonderen and Kerensheide. These projects significantly impact local communities, making the role of the Environmental Manager essential for building support and facilitating smooth project execution. As an Environmental Manager, you will serve as the bridge between the project and the community, cultivating trust among stakeholders while advocating for both project goals and community interests.
In your capacity as a Junior Environmental Manager, you will operate independently and be accountable for the comprehensive range of environmental management activities. This includes communication, stakeholder management, conditioning, and managing environmental disruptions.
Your Responsibilities:
- You will evaluate the needs and interests of stakeholders within the project, creating consensus for solutions that safeguard the project's feasibility and address the concerns of both the client and stakeholders.
- You will collaborate with the project team to devise strategies for minimizing or avoiding disruptions to the community.
- You will establish and maintain connections between the project and the community, considering the diverse types of stakeholders involved.
What We Expect From You:
- A completed HBO or WO degree.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, an ability to engage others, and a natural talent for building relationships.
- Affinity for technical projects and execution is a plus.
You remain resilient and adaptable when projects deviate from the plan. Flexibility is a hallmark of your approach, and you are not hesitant to make decisions within your authority.
