We are in search of a motivated Junior People Business Partner who will play a vital role in delivering coordinated operational People support throughout our organization. This position is essential for ensuring the consistent application of People practices, compliance standards, and performance processes.
The Junior People Business Partner will be responsible for executing and coordinating employee lifecycle activities, assisting with employee relations processes, and collaborating with assigned managers to implement People initiatives, enhancing capabilities in business partnering while ensuring effective People operations delivery.
This role will report directly to the People Business Lead.
Key Responsibilities
People Business Partnering Support
- Provide daily operational People support to approximately five (5) junior managers and their teams.
- Assist managers with attendance, conduct, performance processes, and policy application.
- Execute People initiatives and processes in alignment with the guidance from the People Lead.
- Coordinate People-related activities across teams to ensure uniformity and follow-through.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Prepare documentation for disciplinary, grievance, and counseling processes.
- Assist with hearing preparation and administration tasks.
- Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures across the organization.
- Monitor compliance documentation and maintain precise records.
Talent & Onboarding Coordination
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process for designated roles, under the guidance of the People Business Lead.
- Create role profiles and job advertisements that meet business needs.
- Screen and shortlist candidates, coordinate interviews, and prepare job offers.
- Guarantee Employment Equity considerations are applied according to company targets.
- Facilitate onboarding documentation and induction processes.
Performance & Development Execution
- Administer and track the KPI performance management cycle, ensuring timelines and documentation compliance are met.
- Coordinate KPI review documentation and performance improvement plans.
- Monitor completion rates and escalate any gaps to the People Business Lead.
- Identify development needs arising from KPI discussions and organize learning interventions.
People Operations & Reporting
- Manage employee lifecycle administration (contracts, transfers, exits).
- Ensure the integrity of People system data and documentation accuracy.
- Track leave trends, headcount updates, and operational People metrics.
- Prepare People reports for the People Lead's review.
Culture & Engagement Support
- Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives.
