Join KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School as a Speech-Language Pathologist!
KIPP Academy Lynn Charter School is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist who is passionate about serving students from diverse and multicultural backgrounds. The successful candidate will support students experiencing significant communication challenges in areas such as articulation and phonology, motor speech, augmentative and alternative communication, receptive and expressive language, stuttering, and social pragmatic communication. By providing comprehensive assessments, consultations, and direct therapeutic services, the Speech Pathologist will facilitate equitable access to the curriculum and enhance the social learning experience of our students.
In this role, you will be expected to consistently demonstrate the following essential job functions and key responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Screening, Testing, Diagnosing, and Consulting
- Participate as a member of the Health & Wellness team; attend meetings as part of the Response to Intervention (RTI) process as needed.
- Develop evidence-based speech interventions for classroom implementation.
- Maintain organized records of current data collection for students involved in RTI and Special Education.
- Conduct initial evaluations and reevaluations, administering necessary assessments.
- Prepare clear, reader-friendly reports and explain evaluation findings to parents and students with cultural sensitivity.
- Adhere to a 45-day turnaround time from the receipt of referral packets.
Conduct Therapy
- Deliver group and individual therapy sessions as specified in the Individual Education Plan (IEP).
- Draft annual IEP goals/objectives using empowering language to facilitate the transfer of intervention strategies to classroom performance.
- Engage in annual IEP meetings as required.
- Provide progress reports towards IEP goals to be sent home with report cards every 9 weeks.
Collaboration with Teachers, Parents, and Other Providers
- Offer consultation services in inclusive settings to support the generalization of speech and language skills, which may include staff training, clinical classroom observation, and informal classroom support.
- Foster positive, supportive relationships with families.
Commitment to Continuous Learning
- Stay informed about current trends, federal, and state regulations in speech-language pathology and special education to maintain competency.
- Keep certifications and licensure current.
