Join our dynamic team as a Land Surveyor where you will play a critical role in shaping the landscape of our infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and leading survey teams to meticulously assess and measure the earth's surface, determining precise locations, elevations, and contours for various construction, mapping, and land division purposes. Your expertise will be instrumental in collecting and analyzing data, ensuring the accuracy of measurements, and collaborating closely with engineering teams to achieve project goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and comprehend contract documents, detailed drawings, specifications, and safety protocols, including any updates.
- Conduct survey work under the mentorship of the Resident Engineer.
- Generate new data from photogrammetric records and establish primary horizontal and vertical control points for field re-establishment.
- Document all measurements and calculations accurately in field books as work progresses.
- Validate the precision of survey data, including measurements and calculations performed on-site.
- Collaborate with the Contractor’s surveyor to prioritize work and manage schedules effectively.
- Check all work by completing traverse closures and bench circuits.
- Report any discrepancies or technical challenges to the team leader.
- Conduct joint measurements of completed work or payment assessments.
- Review completed work against project plans to ensure compliance with required lines and grades in conjunction with the assigned inspector.
- Perform regular checks on the Contractor’s setting out to ensure accuracy and proper execution.
- Maintain surveying equipment in optimal condition, performing routine calibration checks.
- Keep comprehensive notes, records, and sketches to document and certify work executed.
- Coordinate findings with engineering, architectural personnel, clients, and other project stakeholders.
- Calculate terrain characteristics such as heights, depths, positions, and property lines.
- Prepare and supervise the preparation of data, charts, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
- Develop sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys to describe and certify work performed.
- Plan and execute ground surveys to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements.
- Implement all site safety and quality control procedures.
- Monitor health and safety aspects of construction work and report any violations.
