About the Role:
As the Lead Optical Manufacturing Technician, you will take charge of a team of five optical technicians, overseeing the construction, testing, alignment, and characterization of optical payloads across various satellite programs. Your expertise in optical architecture, program milestones, and manufacturing workflows will enable you to effectively delegate tasks, clarify priorities, swiftly resolve issues, and uphold high technical and operational standards.
You will act as the primary conduit between the optics technicians in manufacturing and the optomechanical/optical engineering teams. Your role will involve translating requirements, ensuring proper documentation and training, and maintaining an efficient communication loop. The ideal candidate will boast a robust background in optics, exceptional communication skills, proactive leadership, and the organizational acumen necessary to propel multiple optical programs in a dynamic environment.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in our San Francisco headquarters, requiring your presence five days a week.
