The Analytics and Command & Control (AC2) Division at STR specializes in the design, development, and deployment of innovative technologies to address critical national security challenges. Our dynamic team is composed of dedicated engineers and scientists with diverse educational backgrounds in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, and data science. Within the AC2 Division, the Decisions Systems Group focuses on creating algorithms and tools that foster trust in AI systems, enabling optimal decision-making for humans. We develop impactful solutions for mission planning, modeling and simulation, AI decision aids, and more. Our diverse portfolio includes trusted AI systems, Command & Control (C2) technologies, graph-based reasoning, autonomous systems, and human-machine interfaces. Current projects involve a robust simulation platform for training AI autonomy solutions, evolutionary algorithms for workflow optimization, evaluations of autonomous system reliability and accountability, and advanced language models enhanced with domain-specific simulations.
Role Overview:
As a Lead Software Engineer at STR, you will play a vital role in crafting and implementing flexible software solutions, collaborating with interdisciplinary project teams to deliver unique, high-impact solutions that address our clients' most pressing challenges.
Your initial focus will be on system integration and testing of a mature mission planning solution that is transitioning to an active user community. Future projects will align with both your interests and our expanding research and development initiatives.
This position offers the flexibility of remote work, with opportunities to collaborate with teams at STR’s offices in Woburn, MA, and Arlington, VA. Occasional travel, up to 20%, may be required.
