Classroom Responsibilities
- Foster an environment where every child feels recognized, appreciated, and challenged each day.
- Design and implement dynamic and rigorous unit and lesson plans using provided curricula and resources.
- Incorporate core values into daily instruction and school practices, while executing school-wide culture systems and effective classroom management strategies.
- Create and maintain a productive, safe, organized, and focused learning environment.
- Continuously analyze student work and academic data to refine lessons and instructional practices.
- Provide necessary accommodations and modifications to support the growth and success of all students.
- Keep accurate student records and maintain open communication with families regarding student progress.
- Model and enforce all school policies within the classroom setting.
- Act as a positive role model for students.
Professional Responsibilities
- Commit to developing your teaching practice through regular meetings with an instructional coach, implementing feedback, and engaging in active practice.
- Participate actively in all school-wide professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate effectively with your grade team to address common challenges and implement initiatives.
- Provide constructive, solutions-oriented feedback to peers and school leadership regularly.
- Embrace KPPS core values: Children First, Cultural Competence, Ownership, and Community.
- Enroll in or complete a teacher certification program if applicable.
School Responsibilities
- Participate in designated school functions outside of regular school hours (e.g., Back to School Night, Report Card Conferences, Community Events).
- Contribute to the planning and execution of school-wide events.
- Build strong relationships with students' families through home visits, participation in school events, and regular communication.
- Fulfill necessary support duties including, but not limited to, bus, lunch, and dismissal responsibilities.
- Chaperone field lessons and field trips.
- Additional responsibilities may arise during the school year, communicated with as much notice and flexibility as possible.
