Key Responsibilities:
- Collect court-ordered restitutions and fines from defendants in criminal and civil cases.
- Draft and file legal documents through the Electronic Court Filing (ECF) system.
- Prepare garnishments, liens, and other legal documents for collections.
- Issue demand letters, file liens, conduct credit checks, and prepare subpoenas.
- Manage and track collection activities using an internal database.
- Collaborate with AUSAs in the Monetary Penalties Unit (MPU) on collection activities.
- Conduct factual research using public information databases to gather information and identify assets.
- Prepare legal documents utilizing templates, including motions, memoranda, subpoenas, and discovery documents.
- Ensure all legal documents conform to required style and format standards.
- Perform routine document center tasks such as photocopying, organizing documents, and managing case materials.
- Assist in trial preparation for AUSAs.
