Qualifications
Desired Qualifications:Demonstrated experience in look development for VFX films.In-depth knowledge of physically plausible shading and rendering techniques.Extensive familiarity with Renderman, Arnold, or similar raytrace-based production renderers.Strong understanding of lighting techniques and real-world lighting/photography principles.Proficient in color-space concepts.Basic knowledge of Nuke or comparable compositing software, including the use of layers and passes for post-render adjustments.Comprehensive understanding of various VFX disciplines, including simulation, modeling, UV mapping, and texturing.Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.Meticulous attention to detail.Able to thrive under pressure and meet deadlines while delivering high-quality results.Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.Reliable with strong time management skills and a commitment to meeting deadlines.Adaptable with the ability to work within established workflows while employing creativity and problem-solving skills to navigate challenges.Decent knowledge of Houdini.

About the Role
As a vital member of the Lighting department, the Look Development Technical Director will be responsible for producing look development and shading for high-quality, photorealistic CG assets intended for high-end visual effects films.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate closely with VFX/CG Supervisors and the Head of Department to identify optimal strategies for addressing look development challenges and achieving desired aesthetics.
Work in conjunction with other asset departments to ensure all look development requirements are thoroughly met.
Ensure shading setups are efficient to maximize render-farm utilization.
Maintain adherence to project timelines and deadlines while upholding the highest quality standards.
