The Machine Set-up Operator plays a crucial role in our Fabrication Department, ensuring the efficient production and quality of fabricated components according to detailed fabrication drawings. This position reports directly to the Fabrication Supervisor and requires effective communication with all production personnel within the plant.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate all machinery in the Fabrication Department with a focus on efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
- Regularly verify samples to ensure they match the initial piece sample check.
- Collaborate with other plant employees to confirm the accuracy of the first piece sample.
- Identify materials for shape number, work order number, and quantity. If using stock materials, ensure the stock number is indicated on the work order.
- Utilize appropriate tools to verify proper cut length before fabrication.
- Report any equipment malfunctions directly to supervisors and maintenance personnel.
- Ensure that production lines are set up promptly and align with scheduled timelines.
- Adhere to all quality-related policies, procedures, and systems.
- Perform other assigned tasks, including operating any machinery within the Fabrication Department.
