The Maintenance Technician II plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of operating equipment. Responsibilities include the removal, installation, rebuilding, lubrication, and cleaning of all equipment involved in the production process. This role requires collaboration with plant operations to complete tasks efficiently and safely. The technician will report any production, maintenance, or safety issues to Maintenance Supervisors promptly.
Key duties include performing basic instrument replacements, basic electrical work, and terminating electric motors. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing all electrical systems and components within the facility, including variable speed drives, motors, motor control equipment, PLCs, power distribution equipment, and turbines. Pneumatic troubleshooting tasks will also be required, such as calculating ranges and set points for switches, transmitters, indicators, recorders, and controllers.
The position involves installing conduits, wiring, panels, controls, and other electrical components for machines and equipment, as well as maintaining light fixtures and related equipment. The technician will assist E&I technicians in identifying and resolving electrical problems, making necessary corrections to maintain optimal production and quality.
To succeed, the technician should maintain a thorough understanding of all related equipment and participate in available training sessions. Applying root cause analysis theory and corrective actions for continuous improvement is expected. Supporting plant management in enhancing production efficiencies with mechanical resources is essential.
Compliance with all safety training and policies is mandatory. The technician will adhere to departmental procedural policies and adopt a team-oriented approach. They will report product quality issues to supervisors and production management, halting equipment operation if product specifications are compromised. Maintenance tasks should align with quality and GMP requirements, ensuring adherence to safety standards.
All completed work orders should be documented accurately in the ePac CMMS System, including time spent and materials used. Preventative maintenance tasks must be performed following manufacturer and engineering guidelines.
Additional responsibilities include coordinating preventative maintenance schedules with manufacturing, quality control, and management, as well as assisting other maintenance staff on assigned projects. The technician is expected to contribute to capital and maintenance projects and seek opportunities for safer, faster, and more cost-effective work processes.
Experience with the installation of piping systems, pipe fittings, and welding is beneficial.
