We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for our operations in Nashville, TN. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to perform a wide range of maintenance tasks to ensure that our plant operates at peak efficiency. This role involves working directly under the Maintenance Manager and may require flexibility in shift hours, including weekends and overtime, as necessary. Candidates should have a background in electrical work, along with skills in machining, welding, or mechanics.
Key responsibilities include: general housekeeping, lubrication tasks, lifting and transporting items, operating motorized forklifts and other machinery, and other duties as assigned by supervisory staff. This role will require close supervision only 10% of the time.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, scissors lifts, and sky trac equipment.
- Demonstrate basic mechanical skills, particularly in electrical maintenance.
- Pass a fit test for a full face respirator.
- Rewire AC/DC electrical components throughout the facility.
- Troubleshoot PLCs and be proficient in ladder logic programming and wiring schematics.
- Complete preventive maintenance tasks on a daily and monthly basis.
- Collaborate with operators and supervisors to enhance production efficiency.
- Ensure timely completion of work orders.
- Safely manage shut-down procedures for the ammonia system.
- Understand and operate packaging machinery and processes.
- Adhere to safety protocols and follow all SOPs for lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members.
- Identify mechanical improvements and carry out necessary repairs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in work and maintenance areas.
