Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Engineer!
At Actalent, we are on the lookout for a skilled Manufacturing Engineer with significant expertise in automotive die casting. This pivotal role will support daily production operations and facilitate the launch of new products. You will be instrumental in troubleshooting and enhancing the die casting process, as well as in planning and executing the acquisition of new equipment for upcoming product lines.
Your Responsibilities:
- Engage in daily production activities by participating in morning meetings to discuss prior day performance and tackle current challenges.
- Identify and resolve downtime and cycle time issues within the die cast production area to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Contribute to new product launches by determining necessary equipment and drafting Statements of Work (SOW) for procurement.
- Solicit vendor quotes, engage in negotiations, and create presentations for corporate approval on capital expenditures.
- Oversee the installation of new equipment and collaborate on tool designs to ensure successful product introduction.
- Utilize 3D modeling for measurements and become familiar with quality documents essential for Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience in high-pressure die casting is essential.
- Ability to read CMM layouts and interpret automotive industry documentation.
- Exceptional communication skills, as demonstrated in interviews and resume presentation.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering capacity, specifically in automotive die casting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM systems is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and ergonomic practices.
- Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing-related field.
- Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.
