Your Impact
As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer II, you will be an integral part of our Global Quality team. Your role will encompass supporting the entire product lifecycle, ensuring that our manufacturing processes and products consistently meet or surpass Axon’s rigorous quality standards and customer expectations.
What You’ll Do
- Engage in the Axon Product Lifecycle (APL) to ensure adherence to quality deliverables, including issue resolution (CAPA), validation plans, CTQ identification, FAIR/PPAP documentation, and quality monitoring implementation.
- Lead the review of nonconforming materials (NCMR/MRB) and oversee material dispositions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Manage and conduct 8D investigations and root cause analyses (RCA); execute effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Create and sustain FAIRs, PPAP documentation, and AQL sampling plans for incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Provide engineering support for Receiving Inspection, including Gage R&R studies, MSA, and the development of inspection procedures.
- Assist in new product introductions (NPI) through validation, process control, and risk mitigation strategies (e.g., PFMEA).
- Conduct risk assessments and drive mitigation efforts for line stoppages, shipment delays, product launch impediments, and other critical situations.
- Establish and oversee Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems to promote continuous improvement.
- Utilize DMAIC principles and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP) to uncover process improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and design teams to enhance process consistency and yield.
- Participate in internal and supplier audits; ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IPC-A-610).
- Manage quality-related documentation, including procedures, inspection plans, and training resources.
- Work alongside supply chain and procurement teams to ensure supplier quality and performance metrics are met.
