Join our dynamic team as a Market Management Systems (MMS) Applications Engineer in a hybrid work environment. This role is critical for supporting our MMS applications portfolio, which includes Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED), Day-Ahead Market (DAM), Reliability Unit Commitment (RUC), Congestion Revenue Rights (CRR), and QSE Training Simulator. You will be engaged in the design, development, testing, validation, and implementation of enhancements to these applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Be a vital member of our 24/7 Market Applications Engineering support team, addressing and troubleshooting market applications and system issues.
• Proactively enhance and remediate issues within MMS applications.
• Coordinate application setup and testing with Qualified Scheduling Entities (QSEs), Load Serving Entities (LSEs), and Regulatory Entities (REs).
• Conduct periodic MMS model load testing and update model data in real-time according to established protocols.
• Design and test MMS interfaces and modifications for web and client/server applications.
• Ensure the integrity and functionality of MMS applications during system failovers, upgrades, and patching.
• Participate in Disaster Recovery drills and business continuity procedures.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair MMS applications and interfaces, escalating issues when necessary.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and analysts.
• Act as a consultant and subject matter expert for projects affecting MMS environments and applications.
• Represent the Market Applications Engineering Team in interdepartmental and stakeholder meetings.
• Collaborate with database administrators and infrastructure teams on complex MMS issues arising from server, network, storage, or database components.
• Test non-functional requirements of MMS application changes and work with database/infrastructure teams for testing.
• Build strong relationships across departments to foster collaboration.
• Utilize your expertise in power system software applications, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Stay updated on emerging trends and industry best practices.
