Position Summary:
The Materials Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring that all workstations on the production floor are adequately equipped with necessary parts and materials. This position is vital for maintaining an uninterrupted production flow, reducing downtime, and ensuring timely delivery of finished products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular kanban checks at designated locations on the production floor to assess parts and materials that need replenishment.
- Efficiently pick, transport, and deliver parts and materials from warehouse and storage areas to workstations in appropriate quantities and within set timelines.
- Monitor inventory levels at each workstation, initiating replenishment actions when stock falls below threshold levels.
- Verify part numbers, quantities, and condition of materials prior to delivery to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Communicate any material shortages, discrepancies, or quality concerns to the Value Stream Leader/Work Center Lead.
- Utilize material handling equipment, including pallet jacks, hand trucks, and forklifts (when certified), to move materials safely and efficiently.
- Maintain organized and clearly labeled kanban locations and staging areas at workstations.
- Assist in conducting cycle counts and inventory audits as directed by your supervisor.
- Adhere to established safety protocols and guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

- Attention to Detail: Proven ability to accurately identify part numbers, quantities, and kanban signals to ensure correct materials reach their destinations.
- Reliability: Dependable and self-motivated, capable of following established routes and schedules with minimal supervision.
