Role Overview:
As the Mechanical Category Manager, you will take charge of developing, executing, and managing initiatives related to Data Center equipment across a spectrum of mechanical products. Your contributions will have a direct and immediate impact on the expansion and efficiency of our data center operations.
Your Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of Data Center equipment initiatives for various direct and indirect mechanical products.
Negotiate and support complex programs involving Chillers, CRAHs, Fan Walls, CDUs, and other necessary electrical equipment.
Oversee equipment schedules, budgets, and costs to facilitate large-scale Data Center construction projects.
Drive the integration and development of both new and existing suppliers to enhance collaboration.
Lead supplier onboarding and selection processes based on cost analysis and lead times associated with RFPs.
Provide strategic insights, focusing on Total Cost of Ownership to guide sourcing decisions.
Create implementation strategies, assign responsibilities, develop communication plans, and establish timelines.
Manage implementation activities for mechanical equipment categories that significantly impact business operations.
Ensure compliance with supplier agreements regarding speed, scope, and scheduling.
Conduct comprehensive spend analyses, develop methodologies, and create metrics tools for progress tracking and recommendations on improvements.
Negotiate, review, and implement contractual agreements in accordance with company policies and objectives.
Identify and implement system solutions and best practices to optimize sourcing and procurement processes.
