Opportunity Overview:
Each project presents distinct challenges; contributors may be tasked with:
- Creating original computational engineering scenarios that emulate real-world engineering processes;
- Formulating problems that necessitate Python programming for solving engineering computations and simulations;
- Ensuring tasks are computationally demanding and utilize numerical methods or iterative solutions;
- Designing problems centered around system design, optimization, and analytical methods;
- Grounding problems in actual research dilemmas or field-specific applications from engineering practices;
- Validating solutions utilizing Python with established engineering libraries;
- Clearly documenting problem statements and providing confirmed accurate solutions.
Candidate Profile:
This role is ideal for engineers proficient in Python looking for part-time, non-permanent project opportunities. Preferred candidates will possess:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline;
- Proficiency in Python for numerical validation; knowledge of MATLAB, R, C, SQL, Numpy, Pandas, SciPy, or similar programming languages will be considered equivalent;
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience, including applied, research, or teaching roles;
- A solid understanding of practical engineering limitations and approximations;
- Excellent written English skills (C1 level or higher);
- Professional certifications (such as CMME, SAS Certifications, CAP) and experience with international or applied projects are advantageous.
Process:
Apply → Complete qualifications → Join a project → Execute tasks → Receive compensation.
Project Engagement:
During active phases, tasks are estimated to require approximately 10–20 hours per week, based on project demands. This estimate is not a guaranteed workload and is applicable only while the project is active.
Compensation:
Contributors can earn up to $69 per hour, contingent upon their contribution level and pace. Compensation varies by project based on its scope, complexity, and required expertise. Please note that other projects on the platform may offer varying earning levels based on their specific requirements.
