As a Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to research cutting-edge technologies and design innovative instrumentation to validate project feasibility and adhere to established specifications.
- Engaging in design processes through reviews, prototyping, and effectively communicating schedules, milestones, and project status to team members.
- Generating CAD files for components and assemblies, specifying materials, and defining acceptable performance criteria and standards for mechanical designs.
- Developing and executing test plans to qualify instrument prototypes and sub-assemblies, applying sound engineering principles for troubleshooting, and thoroughly documenting results.
- Producing instrument documentation, including bills of materials and specification sheets for procurement, while adhering to Configuration Management protocols using an ERP system.
- Designing and fabricating test fixtures suited for prototype and pilot production environments.
- Refining sheet metal designs, aluminum casting designs, and component placements to enhance usability, maintenance, and manufacturability.
