In this role, you will be responsible for architecting, prototyping, constructing, and designing the hardware systems for our next-generation 3D printers. Your expertise will directly influence essential system decisions that impact product performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Innovate within the realm of 3D printing by developing creative solutions for complex challenges.
- Serve as a technical leader within our team of mechanical, systems, and electrical engineers, overseeing, reviewing, and mentoring junior colleagues.
- Prototype new systems, mechanisms, conduct material tests, and explore 3D printing challenges.
- Design the various subsystems of a 3D printer or processing appliance focusing on performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Create an unparalleled 3D printer ecosystem that stands out in the market.
Qualifications:
- Proven portfolio showcasing experience in electro-mechanical systems.
- Desire to create a precision tool that is aesthetically pleasing both internally and externally.
- Knowledgeable about thermal systems, optical systems, sensor design, controllers, structures, and algorithms.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for part design, material selection, and manufacturing techniques.
- Ability to devise elegant systems that operate with efficiency and simplicity.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and team members globally.
- Familiarity with various manufacturing methods for high-volume and high-performance products.
- Hands-on approach to prototyping your own designs and resolving issues across disciplines.
- Experience with the complete product development cycle.
- 5+ years in the industry.
Preferred Skills: (Optional)
- Understanding of polymers and polymer chemistry.
- Experience with electronics and circuit design.
- Knowledge of PLM/document control systems.
- Programming skills, particularly in Python.
- Background in industrial design.
- Familiarity with tool design and manufacturing.
