If you thrive on purpose, are driven by excellence, and are ready to contribute to the future of intelligence, we invite you to join us in shaping what's next.
Your Role
As a Mechanical Engineer specializing in Thermal and Refrigeration Systems, you will steer the thermodynamic design of our innovative direct current air-cooled chiller program, crucial for our next-generation AI data centers. Your responsibilities will encompass refrigeration cycle optimization, compressor selection and integration, heat exchanger sizing, and ensuring optimal thermal performance. This role demands profound expertise in vapor compression refrigeration systems and the capability to convert thermal requirements into production-ready designs.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the thermal modeling and simulation of the refrigeration cycle, focusing on compressor staging, superheat/subcooling control, and part-load performance optimization.
Oversee the selection and integration of compressors.
Design and specify evaporators, condenser coils, and heat exchangers to achieve target COP/IPLV specifications.
Develop P&IDs including all control loops, safety interlocks, and instrumentation for the refrigeration system.
Specify electronic expansion valves, refrigerant piping, and flow control components.
Collaborate closely with controls engineering to define control strategies for compressor staging, capacity modulation, and fault management.
Assist in refrigerant selection and ensure regulatory compliance (R-1234ze(E) for EPA AIM Act compliance).
Lead performance testing and validation, including full-load and part-load testing across the operating range.
Drive certification efforts to meet ASHRAE 15, ASME B31.5, and UL 1995 compliance standards.
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of experience in refrigeration system design, with a focus on chiller development and thermal system optimization.
Proficient knowledge of vapor compression refrigeration systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
