Medical Assistant – Neurology Clinic
Location: Round Rock, Texas
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Position Overview
Join our dynamic outpatient neurology practice as a Medical Assistant. In this pivotal position, you will enhance patient care, streamline clinic operations, and ensure effective care coordination while collaborating closely with neurologists and advanced practice providers. This role is fast-paced and hands-on, making you an essential and respected member of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
Clinic & Patient Flow Support
Prepare patient charts prior to visits by ensuring that all pertinent imaging, lab results, reports, and documentation are accurately loaded in the medical record.
Carry forward relevant clinical information into provider templates to facilitate efficient, high-quality visits.
Load imaging into the RadiAnt image viewer before patient visits for seamless provider-patient interactions.
Room patients promptly to maintain on-time clinic flow.
Conduct patient intake, reviewing medical history, completing quality/MIPS questions, reconciling medications, and collecting vital signs.
Provide clear and accurate handoffs to providers before patient encounters.
Maintain exam rooms in a clean, stocked, and ready state between patient visits.
Provider & Procedure Support
Prepare procedure trays for in-office procedures and injections (e.g., Botox, Xeomin) as required.
Assist providers during patient visits and procedures as requested.
Manage clinical phone calls for assigned provider(s).
Clinical Administration & Care Coordination
Triage provider inboxes, including patient portal messages and administrative communications, routing items to the appropriate providers or team members.
Obtain prior authorizations for medications using CoverMyMeds and other payer portals.
Coordinate specialty pharmacy medication deliveries ahead of scheduled appointments for injectable therapies.
