Qualifications
Education and Experience:High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or at least 5 months of relevant experience and/or training; or a combination of education and experience. Required Skills:Language Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as blueprints, work orders, safety protocols, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence is essential.Reasoning Ability: Capable of solving practical problems and following both written and verbal instructions.Mathematical Skills: Proficient in basic math operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Must be able to compute rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret graphical data.

As a Metal Fitter Tacker B, you will be responsible for managing welding techniques, ensuring optimal time, current, and pressure settings. Your role will involve accurately spacing spot welds or roll welding under various conditions to achieve the desired fusion while preventing distortion and burning.
Key Responsibilities:
Working under general supervision, you will perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Set up welding equipment by selecting, mounting, and aligning welding tips or wheels, adjusting machines to exert the proper pressure, and tuning voltage and amperage to achieve specified results.
- Determine the correct location for welds to ensure compliance with standards.
- Identify and rectify equipment malfunctions.
- Create test samples for production prior to initiating the first part run.
- Regularly refine electrode tips to maintain a smooth and uniform weld.
- Dress wheels for seam welding operations as necessary.
- Conduct rework, repairs, and related tasks as required.
- Troubleshoot welding issues effectively.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
