Mission Control Engineer (MCE)
The Fastly Edge Cloud Platform is the backbone of the digital world, and our Mission Control Program (MCP)—a vital part of our Customer Experience organization—ensures operational excellence to fulfill this mission.
As a Mission Control Engineer, you will be a guardian of service quality, transforming extensive monitoring data into actionable insights to protect our strategic accounts, esteemed digital partners, and enterprise support clientele. You will be proactive in problem management and continuous improvement, ensuring our platform's resilience for organizations within our Performance and Focus Centers. During critical platform incidents, you will advocate for these accounts, collaborating with incident commanders to prioritize stability and mitigate risks specific to their traffic profiles. Partnering with engineering teams focused on network delivery and computing services, you will provide essential troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, and analysis of contributing factors necessary for managing complex traffic scenarios.
What You Will Do
Transform high-velocity monitoring data into actionable insights for strategic enterprise accounts using the Fastly Observability platform to detect and resolve performance trends.
Lead Live Event Monitoring (LEM) initiatives during high-traffic events, ensuring a seamless and high-quality digital experience.
Oversee administrative updates and coordination via fastlystatus.com to maintain transparent, impact-focused communication between engineering and revenue teams.
Act as an advocate for strategic customers during maintenance planning to ensure timely notifications and identify necessary configuration updates prior to implementation.
Collaborate with various engineering teams to enhance system reliability and performance.
