Position: Network Engineer (Lab Environment)
Location: Westlake, TX
Duration: 12+ Months
Technologies and Tools: VXLAN, Segment Routing, MPLS-VPN, BGP, EBH, Timing, Routing Protocols, IPv4, IPv6, Multicast, QoS, VTS, DCNM, Fortinet Firewall.
Platforms: Cisco, Nokia, Juniper.
Role Overview:
- As a Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the pre-production testing of various software and hardware features within the lab environment. Your expertise will aid in identifying and troubleshooting potential issues prior to deployment, ensuring the design's validation and optimization.
- You will collaborate with vendor teams, such as TAC and the architecture/design team, to troubleshoot and root-cause various software and hardware issues, providing vital feedback for fixes and workarounds.
Responsibilities Include:
- Validation of Method of Procedures (MOP)
- Software and hardware upgrades
- Configuration support
- Creation and testing of VTS templates
- Design validation
- Lab issue troubleshooting support
- Coordination of TAC/RMA support for the lab
- Testing of failover and redundancy
- Reproducing production issues in the lab setup
- Support during lab change windows
- Clearing lab device alarms
Deliverables:
- Activity logs and reports
- Weekly updates on activities and deliverables
