About the Role:
Join our dynamic team at pavago as a Network Engineer, where you will play a vital role in designing, configuring, securing, and maintaining enterprise-grade networks. We are looking for a technically adept professional who excels in routing, switching, firewalls, and network monitoring to ensure our networks operate at peak performance, remain secure, and are resilient. Your expertise will be crucial in both daily operations and long-term infrastructure planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Configuration & Maintenance:
- Manage and configure routers, switches, and firewalls from leading vendors including Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, and Fortinet.
- Implement VLANs, VPNs, QoS, and advanced routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP.
- Apply firmware upgrades and ensure timely device patching.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
- Utilize monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, or Zabbix to oversee network performance.
- Diagnose latency, packet loss, and routing issues with packet analyzers like Wireshark and TCPdump.
- Handle escalated tickets and perform root cause analysis to resolve issues efficiently.
Security & Compliance:
- Enforce robust firewall rules, manage access control lists (ACLs), and deploy intrusion prevention systems (like Snort or Suricata).
- Support compliance requirements across various standards (PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOX, GDPR).
- Implement network segmentation and promote Zero Trust security principles.
Performance & Optimization:
- Conduct thorough bandwidth and capacity planning.
- Enhance load balancing and failover systems for optimal performance.
- Maintain a network uptime of ≥99.9% across client environments.
Documentation & Governance:
- Keep network diagrams, runbooks, and topology maps (using Visio or Lucidchart) up to date.
- Document changes following ITIL or change management processes.
Collaboration & Projects:
- Collaborate with DevOps and cloud teams to integrate hybrid cloud networking solutions (AWS VPCs, Azure VNets, GCP).
- Assist in office expansions, migrations, and new data center setups.
- Provide insights for hardware and vendor selection.

Required Experience & Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering.
- Holds Cisco CCNA/CCNP certifications or has equivalent hands-on experience.
- Proficient in routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and enterprise networking.
